China's imports grew at their fastest pace in 10 years in May, boosted by surging demand for raw materials, although the growth of exports slowed more than expected amid disruptions caused by COVID-19 cases at the country's major southern ports.

Imports, in US dollar terms, increased by 51.1 per cent in May from a year earlier to $218.4 billion, accelerating from the 43.1 per cent growth in the previous month, according to data from China's General Administration of Customs on Monday. This was below the median result of a survey . . .
