Boosted by robust demand amid economic recovery, China's crude steel output grew at the fastest growth in five years in the first half of the year, adding pressure on China's target to cut steel production this year as port of carbon emission cut.

According to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), China churned out 560 million tonnes of crude steel in the first six months of the year, representing an increase of 11. 8 per cent from the same period last year.
