China’s government is cracking down on the country’s booming off-campus tutoring industry with measures including banning institutions engaged in core school subject tutoring from stock market financing.

Authorities will ban the provision of holiday and weekend tutoring, will no longer approve the establishment of new after-school eduction firms seeking to offer tutoring on compulsory syllabus and require extra scrutiny of existing online platforms, according to a document newly released by the State Council.
