Chinese local governments aim to increase advanced manufacturing’s share in economy in next five years

Several Chinese local governments have outlined their plans to develop high-end manufacturing sector and increase the manufacturing sector's share in the economy in the next five years.

Provinces of Guangdong, Zhejiang, Shandong, Zhejiang, Fujian and Hainan as well as Shanghai, Tianjing and Chongqing cities will place more importance on a key industries including smart manufacturing, integrated circuit, new energy and aim to stabilise or increase the manufacturing sector's share in the economy, according to the local governments' 14th Five-Year (2021 - 2025) Plan for the manufacturing sector.
