While liquefied natural gas (LNG) prices in the overseas market surge, the prices in China's domestic market have slid by nearly 50% since mid-November as upstream suppliers have been fully prepared for the winter heating season but downstream demand is weaker than expected.

Industry insiders say that as weather become colder in January and February, gas supply could see challenges and gas prices will likely rebound.
