China's measures to combat the latest round of COVID-19 outbreaks have hurt auto sales and production and several carmakers have been forced to suspend or reduce production as the supply of some car parts has been cut off.

China's retail sales of passenger cars reached 1.579 million units in March, sliding 10.5% from a year earlier, though up 25.6% from the prior month, and first-quarter retails sales fell . . .
