China’s imports of iron ore, oil picked up in May, coal imports declined, while steel exports hit record high

China's iron ore imports increased by 7.5% in May from a month earlier to 92.52 million tonnes, up 3% from a year earlier, after disruptions to shipments by major suppliers eased, according to the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA), citing the data released by the General Administration of Customs on Thursday.

The average import price of the steel-making ingredient was $138.9 per tonne last month, rising by 3.3% from the previous month, showed the data.
