China's exports picked up sharply in May and imports expanded for the first time in three months as production resumed and logistics disruptions eased after the government relaxed COVID curbs in cities including Shanghai.

Exports, in US dollar terms, jumped 16.9% in May from a year earlier, the fastest growth since January this year, according to data released by the General Administration of Customs on Thursday. That's more than double the expectations . . .
