China’s auto sales jumped in May from the previous month as production gradually resumed amid easing Covid curbs and industry insiders now expect positive annual growth in 2022 after the government introduced stimulus measures.

Retail sales of passenger cars reached 1.35 million units last month, surging 29.7% from the previous month, marking the fastest growth for the same period in nearly six years, according to the China Passenger Car Association.
