Chinese automakers are mostly trading lower, with Xpeng Motors down 8.2%, Great Wall Motor down 3.5%, Leapmotor down nearly 3%.
China’s retail sales of passenger vehicles are expected to reach 1.73 million units in July, falling 8.6% from the previous month and down 4.8% from a year earlier, according to estimates by the China Passenger Car Association.
Retail sales of new energy vehicles are expected to reach around 620,000 units, down 6.8% from the previous month, and rising 27.5% from a year ago, with a penetration rate of 35.8%, estimated the association.
