Chinese pharmaceutical research firm WuXi AppTec opens 3.8% higher in Hong Kong and is extending gains to more than 5%. Its Shanghai-traded shares are trading 3.4% higher.
WuXi AppTec said its revenue for the first half of the year reached 18.87 billion yuan, rising by 6.3% from a year earlier and net profit attributable to the parent company reached 5.3 billion yuan, rising by 14.6% from a year earlier.
For the second quarter alone, the company’s revenue reached 9.9 billion yuan, rising by 6.7% from a year earlier, and net profit attributable to parent reached 3.15 billion yuan, rising by 5.1% from a year earlier.
