Apple supplier Sunny Optical’s shipments of handset lens grew 25.8% on year in Jun, down 3.7% on month

Sunny Optical, a supplier to Apple, said that its shipment volume of handset lens sets increased by 25.8% year over year in June to 91.012 million units, mainly due to the low base caused by the weak demand from the overall smartphone market a year ago. The volume is however down 3.7% MoM. 

Its shipment volume of handset camera modules reached 52.154 million units in June, rising 29.3% from a year earlier and up 6.7% from the previous month.

During the period, the shipment volume of vehicle lens sets grew by 19.2% year over year to 7.389 million units, which was mainly due to the increased demand from the vehicle camera market with the relief of the key components shortage in the auto supply chain. It’s down 2.6% in month-on-month terms.
