China bans minors from participating live-streaming in the latest crackdown on the sector

China’s regulators have banned minors from participating in the country’s live-streaming industry to protect “their physical and mental health”, in the latest move to tighten regulations on a sector that gained huge popularity amid the Covid-19 lockdowns of 2020.

The new requirements, issued by four regulators including the National Radio and Television Administration and the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC), represent the latest moves by Chinese authorities to step up minor . . .
