China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released a new version of the “Radio Frequency Delineation Regulations”, effective from July.
In the amendments, the ministry is the first in the world to classify all or part of the 6425-7125MHz frequency band for IMT (International Mobile Telecommunications, including 5G/6G) systems.
The 6GHz band is the only high-quality resource with large bandwidth in the mid-band, which has both coverage and capacity advantages and is particularly suitable for 5G or future 6G system deployment, while leveraging the advantages of the existing mid-band 5G global industry.
