China’s health authority is encouraging people to stay put during next month’s National Day holidays and avoid travel out of their cities to reduce the spread of COVID-19, Wu Liangyou, an official at the National Health Commission, said at a news conference on Thursday.
In addition, China’s travelers will be required to show negative results of nucleic testings within 48 hours when they take flights, trains, inter-provincial buses and inter-provincial ships during the period of September 10 – October 31, Chinese authority said.
The period covers two holidays in China – Mid-Autumn Festival holiday (Sept 10 – 12) and the National Day holiday (Oct 1 – 7).
