China set 2022 GDP growth target at “around 5.5%”

China announced a GDP growth target of “around 5.5%” for 2022, said Chinese Premier Li Keqiang1 at the opening of the annual meeting of parliament on Saturday. Chinese economy grew 8.1% last year, beating the government target of over 6%.

The government set its 2022 budget deficit target at around 2.8% of GDP, compared with last year's target of around 3.2% of GDP.
