Foundation models of generative AI are triggering a new wave of intellectualization and thanks to the huge amount of data, parameters and better learning capabilities, foundation models enhance the versatility of artificial intelligence, China’s official newspaper People’s Daily said in an editorial on Friday.
From chatting smoothly with people, writing contracts and scripts, to detecting program security vulnerabilities to aiding in the creation of games and even movies, the evolution of generative AI is accelerating evolution, it said.
AI is an important driving force of a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial change, and accelerating the development of a new generation of AI would be a strategic issue for whether China could seize the opportunities arising from this change, it said,
China should overcome difficulties, make innovations, and strive to expand the application of theory and technology to form new development advantages, it said.
