China, Australia trade officials had talks for first time since 2019, aiming to bring bilateral ties back on track

China and Australia’s top trade officials on Monday held talks for the first time since 2019, in the latest sign of a warming in diplomatic relations between the two countries.

China's commerce minister Wang Wentao said talks with Australian counterpart Don Farrell were a key step toward bringing bilateral economic and trade ties back on track, with relations improving after being strained in recent years.
