China’s auto industry saw profit rise 24.3% on year in Jan – May – industry association

China’s automobile manufacturing industry’s profit reached 174.6 billion yuan during the first five months of the year, rising by 24.3% from a year earlier and accounting for 6.5% of China’s total industrial profits, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, based on data released by the National Bureau of Statistics.

The industry’s profit margin stood at 4.8% during the period, rising slightly by 0.1 percentage point from a year earlier, showed the data. 

As various policy measures to support the auto industry gradually show effects, the industry’s profit has improved significantly, it said.
