China’s battery-grade lithium carbonate price fell for 10th straight day to hit new low in four months

The price of battery-grade lithium carbonate in China fell by 2,500 yuan per tonne to 183,000 yuan per tonne, marking a new low in more than four months and sliding for the 10th consecutive day, according to Shanghai Metals Market.

The price fell by 11,000 yuan per tonne in the recent five days and by 73,500 yuan per tonne in the recent 30 days.

The price of battery-grade lithium hydroxide fell by 1,000 yuan per tonne to 171,000 yuan per tonne, marking a new low in more than one year and sliding for the 46th straight day, showed the data.

The price fell by 8,000 yuan per tonne in the recent five days and by 70,000 yuan per tonne in the recent 30 days.

China’s most-traded lithium carbonate futures contract on the Guangzhou Futures Exchange, for January 2024 delivery, fell by 1.15% to close at 167,150 yuan per tonne.
