China’s business performance revenue surged 673% on year in first half – industry association

In the second quarter of 2023, China recorded 124,400 business performances (excluding entertainment venue performances), surging 80.60% from a year earlier, and the box office revenue was 11.8 billion yuan, up 137.20%, according to the China Association of Performing Arts.

The number of audience reached 40,384,400, jumping 84.81% from a year ago, according to the data. 

In the first half of the year, the number of business performances reached 193,300, jumping 400.86% from a year earlier; box office revenue reached 16.793 billion yuan, up 673.49%; and the number of audience was 62,236,600, skyrocketing 10 times, showed the data.
