China’s domestic tourist trips, tourism revenue during New Year holiday remain sharply lower than pre-pandemic levels

China recorded 52.7 million domestic tourist trips during the three-day New Year holiday (Dec 31 – Jan 2), rising by 0.44% from the same period last year, representing 42.8% of the level in the same period in 2019, according to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism

China’s domestic tourism revenue reached 26.52 billion yuan during the holiday, rising by 4% from a year earlier, and representing about 35.1% of 2019-level, showed the data.
