China’s domestic travelers grew 82% in Feb 19 – Mar 4 from previous two weeks – travel agency data

The number of travelers has increased by 82% in the past two weeks (Feb 19 – Mar 4), compared to the previous two weeks (Feb 5 – 18), according to data from online travel agency Tuniu. 

Most of the travels remained domestic trips, accounting for nearly 90% of total, and the most popular domestic destinations include Sanya, Shanghai, Beijing, Dali, Lijiang, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Zhuhai, Zhangjiakou, and Enshi, showed the data.

Meanwhile, the number of outbound travelers in the past two weeks surged by 100% compared to the previous two weeks, with popular destinations including Phuket, Pattaya, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Bali, and the Maldives, showed the data.
