China’s total electricity consumption in February reached 743.4 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) in February, an 8.6% year-on-year increase, according to data released by the National Energy Administration.
In breakdown, the primary industry consumed 9.8 billion kWh of electricity, rising by 10.2%, the secondary industry used 462.4 billion kWh, up 12.4%, while the tertiary industry recorded 142.0 billion kWh, up 9.7%. The household sector’s electricity consumption declined by 4.2% to 129.2 billion kWh.
For the first two months of the year, China’s total electricity consumption reached 1,556.4 billion kWh, up 1.3% year-on-year.
In breakdown, the primary industry used 20.8 billion kWh of electricity, up 8.2%, the secondary industry consumed 963.6 billion kWh, up 0.9%, and the tertiary industry recorded 298.0 billion kWh, up 3.6%. The household sector’s electricity consumption saw a slight increase of 0.1% to 274.0 billion kWh.
