China’s imports of mechanical and electrical products rose 0.4% from a year earlier – customs data

China’s exports of mechanical and electrical products reached 2.03 trillion yuan in the first two months of the year, an increase of 0.4% from a year earlier and accounting for 58% of the total export value, according to China’s customs data. 

In breakdown, exports of automatic data processing equipment and its components reached 183.72 billion yuan, a decrease of 26.7%; exports of mobile phones reached 163.35 billion yuan, an increase of 10.5%; exports of automobiles reached 96.83 billion yuan, a rise of 78.9%, showed the data. 

During the same period, China’s exports of labor-intensive products reached 573.32 billion yuan, a drop of 7.4% from a year earlier, accounting for 16.4% of the total exports, showed the data. 

Of those, exports of clothing and accessories reached 149.89 billion yuan, a drop of 7.5% from a year earlier; exports of textiles reached 132.41 billion yuan, a drop of 15.9%; and exports of plastic products reached 99.25 billion yuan, a decrease of 2.1%, showed the customs data.
