China’s lithium battery output surged over 43% on year in H1

China’s lithium battery industry extended the growth momentum in the first half of 2023, with the total lithium battery output reaching more than 400 GWh, surging more than 43% from a year earlier, and the industry’s total revenue exceeding 600 billion yuan, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The output of lithium energy storage batteries exceeded 75GWh in the first half and new energy vehicles’ power battery installations reached about 152GWh, showed the data.
