The Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) on Thursday published the finalized Measures for the Management of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) Services, which will take effect on 15 August.

Morgan Stanley viewed it as a key regulatory milestone, which supports its view that regulators will potentially issue a green-light in the near-term for the large-scale commercialization of LLM-based services.

The bank believed that the Chinese government has been actively promoting the development of generative AI and fully supporting home-grown generative AI development and internet companies will be main beneficiaries.

In China’s internet sector, Baidu will be the best AI investment due to stock’s lower valuation and immediate monetization opportunities once the commercialization of generative AI services is approved, it said.
