China’s pickup truck sales rose 18% Y/Y in August, down 8% M/M – industry body

China’s pickup truck sales reached about 40,000 units in August, an increase of 18% from a year earlier, but down 8% from the previous month, according to data released by the China Passenger Car Association.

In the first eight month of the year, China’s pickup truck sales reached about 343,000 units, falling slightly by 1% from the same period in 2021, showed the data.

Driven by strong growth in exports, China’s pickup production and sales were significantly better than other truck markets, said the association.
