China is expected to record 760 million railway passenger trips in July and August, significantly higher than the 735 million seen during the same period in 2019, estimated China State Railway Group.

According to estimates by the Civil Aviation Administration of China, the country is expected to see an average of 13,600 domestic passenger flights per day during the summer break and domestic air passenger trips are expected to reach 1.83 million in the period, rising by 11% and 7%, respectively, from the levels seen in the same period in 2019.

Driven by the strong travel demand, the average air ticket price in the period of July 1 – Sept 1 will about about 32% higher than a year earlier and about 5% higher than 2019-levels, according to estimates by online travel agency Tongcheng.
