The China Retail Performance Index (CRPI) compiled by the China Commercial Federation reached 50.6% in March, up 0.3 percentage points from the previous month.

The policy measures to boost consumption and the end of the small off-season after the Spring Festival holidays have contributed to the gradual recovery of consumption after the country normalized epidemic control measures and retailers are actively purchasing new products, planning promotion campaigns, the federation said.

In breakdown, the index for commodity business was 50.6%, up 0.3 percentage points from the previous month; the index for leasing business was 51.8%, down 0.6 percentage points; while the index for e-commerce business was 49.9%, up slightly by 1.4 percentage points, showed the data.
