China’s retail sales of passenger vehicles rose 11% on year in October – industry association

China’s retail sales of passenger cars reached 841,000 units in the period of Oct 21 – 31, rising 35% from a year earlier, jumping 99% from the previous week, but down 8% from the same period in September, according to data from the China Passenger Car Association.

Wholesale volume of passenger cars in the period reached 1.075 million units in the period, rising 17% from a year earlier, surging 99% from the previous week, but down 6% from the same period in September, showed the data.

Preliminary data shows that China’s retail sales of passenger vehicles reached 1.905 million units in October, rising 11% from a year earlier, but down 1% from the previous month, said the association.

Wholesale volume of passenger vehicles reached 2.26 million units in October, rising 15% from a year earlier, but down 1% from the month before, it said.
