China’s steel product exports fell 0.7% on year in Jun – customs data

China’s exports of steel products in June fell 0.7% from a year earlier to 7.51 million metric tons, lower than the 8.36 million tonnes in May, customs data showed.

The country exported 43.58 million metric tonnes of steel products in the first half of the year, surging by 31.3% from a year earlier, according to the data.

China imported 612,000 metric tonnes of steel products last month, down from 790,000 tonnes in June 2022, with the January-June total at 3.74 million metric tons, a 35.2% drop on the year.
