China’s whole car imports improved in Apr from previous month, tumbled from a year ago

China’s whole car imports improved in April from the previous month, but continued to slide from a year earlier, according to data compiled by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers based on customs data.

China’s whole car imports reached 62,000 units in April, up 8.8% from the previous month, but slumping 32.6% from a year earlier, and the value of the whole car imports was $3.64 billion, down 3.5% from the prior month and sliding 40.9% from a year earlier, showed the data.

In the first four months of the year, China imported a total of 225,000 whole cars, sliding 28.9% year over year, and the value of the imports was $23.67 billion, sliding 26.5% from a year earlier.
