Chinese airlines will increase fuel surcharge for domestic flight routes, starting from August 5, for the first time this year.
Chinese carriers will start charging 30 yuan per passenger for shorter routes of less than 800 kilometres and 60 yuan for longer routes of more than 800 kilometres, increasing from the previous 20 yuan and 30 yuan, respectively, according to online travel agencies Qunar.com and Tongcheng Travel, citing notices from various airlines.
That would be the fourth adjustment to the fuel surcharge and the first rise this year.
