China has accelerated the local government bond issuance this year to help the timely implementation of various projects to mitigate the impacts of the coronavirus epidemic.

Local governments will issue 562.7 billion yuan new special-purpose bonds this week, the highest one-week amount on record, according to data from Wind Information based on local governments' announcements.

The previous record was seen in the third week of January this year when local governments sold 448.3 billion yuan new special-purpose bonds.

Local governments will issue a total of 949.96 billion . . .
