Chinese President Xi Jinping to seriously consider visiting South Korea – report

China’s President Xi Jinping said he will seriously consider visiting South Korea, Yonhap news agency reported.

Xi held talks with South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo in the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou before the opening ceremony of the Asian Games.

Xi told Han he would welcome such a summit at an opportune time and would seriously consider visiting South Korea, the report said.

According to China’s state broadcaster CCTV, Xi said China attaches great importance to the positive willingness of South Korea to commit to cooperation and the two countries can deepen mutually beneficial cooperations. The report didn’t mention Xi’s comment on the summit or a visit to Seoul.
