Country Garden continues to rebound after denied report on KPMG investigation

Country Garden continue to rebound on Wednesday, gaining as much as 3.4%.

The company, as cited by Chinese news outlet The Paper, said that some foreign media reports on KPMG being appointed to conduct due diligence investigation on the assets and liabilities of the group were false.

Earlier, the developer had said it has settled interest and principal payments for all bonds on time, and it has not found any undisclosed significant information that could exert major impact on the prices of the bonds.

State-backed newspaper Securities Times cited company insiders as saying that the developer’s founder Yang Guoqiang and his daughter and the chairman of the board Yang Huiyan are both in China and working at the headquarter, in response to market speculation that the company’s senior management has left China.
