European carmaker Stellantis seeking partnership with Chinese EV maker – report

Multinational vehicle manufacturers are ambitiously discussing cooperation with Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers to tap the Chinese market.

Following Volkswagen’s announcement of its investment of $700 million in Xpeng Motors, Europe’s second-largest car maker, Stellantis, is pursuing to partner with a Chinese EV maker to extend its coverage of the Chinese market, Bloomberg News reported citing sources. 

Stellantis is exploring a potential tie-up with Leapmotor in China and it’s also weighing investing in or partnering with a Chinese EV manufacturer to boost its business in China, the report said, adding that the discussion has not been finalized.
