First car model equipped with Huawei’s latest Harmony operating system to be unveiled in Q3

The first car model featuring the latest version of Huawei Technologies’s proprietary Harmony operating system is set to be an electric sports sedan, which will be released in the third quarter of 2023, according to Richard Yu, Chief Executive of Huawei’s Consumer Business Group.

Yu did not reveal the manufacturing partner but shared an image of a sedan branded as Luxeed on Weibo.

Anhui-based Chery, a state-owned automaker, had previously announced its plans to collaborate with Huawei to create EVs and sell them through Huawei’s sales channels.

State-owned automaker Chery submitted a trademark application for the term “Luxceed” on July 14, according to enterprise data provider Qichacha.

On August 4, Huawei announced the fourth version of its HarmonyOS, in which the Chinese tech giant stated it would incorporate ChatGPT-like generative AI tools into partners’ future vehicles.
