“Housing is for living, not speculation” is the general principle of promoting the stable and healthy development of the real estate market, which must be adhered to in the long term, and it is not outdated, said state-run media Economic Daily said in an editorial on Wednesday. 

Real estate markets are greatly differentiated, with home supply in some hotspot cities still not enough to meet home demand, and if housing speculation remergess, the economy may again rely too much on the property sector, which will have a negative impact on the economic development, it said.
