Macau’s visitor arrivals reached about 11.6 million in the first half of 2023, with the volume of mainland Chinese visitors recovering to more than 50% of the pre-COVID level, Macao Daily News reported, citing Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, director of the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO).

The figure has been satisfactory so far in July, with the visitor arrivals exceeding 100,000 for two consecutive days over the past weekend, bringing the daily average visitations of the past week to 80,000, she said.
