New home transactions in China’s 50 major cities are expected reach 18.58 million square meters in June, rising by 2% from the previous month, but sliding 22% from the same period last year, according to data from E-House China R&D Institute.

The property market transactions remained sluggished in June, property developers’ sales centers across the country launched fierce competitions for new property introductions, and meanwhile, the stormy weather in southern China and heatwaves in northern China during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday also brought some disruptions to the real estate market, said Yan Yuejin, research director of E-House.
