Platform economy is key part of social development and industry innovation; regulatory actions should be based on opinions of all parties – state publication

Platform economy is an important part of China’s digital economy and an important carrier of China’s economic and social operation, and industrial innovation and development, according to a front-page commentary in the Study Times, a publication managed by the Central Party School of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). 

The government’s supervision of the sector should focus on guiding the platform economy’s healthy and orderly development, so as to create a good environment, it said.

Regulatory actions and policy adjustments should be formed after comprehensively collecting all parties’ opinions to avoid interrupting the sector’s normal business activities and causing unintended risks, it said.

It noted that the role of the platform economy should be better utilized, and it’s necessary to improve the mechanism for tolerating and rectifying mistakes to promote the healthy development of platform economy, it said.
