In the period of August 1 – 8, the average daily property sales in China’s 30 major cities reached 254,000 square meters, sliding 12.3% from the 290,000 square meters in the same period in July and down 30.6% from the 366,000 square meters a year earlier, according to data compiled by China Merchants Securities.

The sales fell 45.3% from the same period in 2021 and down 58.6% from the same period in 2020, showed the data.

In breakdown, property sales in tier-one, tier-two and tier-three cities fell by 38.2%, 43.1% and 23.6% from a year earlier, showed the data.
