China’s financial hub of Shanghai saw new home transactions reached 7,093 units in April, sliding 22% from the previous month, and the value of the transaction reached 46.2 billion yuan, down 24% from the previous month, according to Shanghai Lianjia Research Institute.
The average transaction price was 58,954 yuan per square meter, a drop of 3% from the month before, showed the data.
In the first four months of this year, the total transaction amount of new homes in Shanghai reached 208.1 billion yuan, rising 21% from a year earlier, and a total of 29,298 units of new homes changed hands, sliding 19% from a year earlier, showed the data.
The average transaction price was 63,698 yuan per square meter, rising by 3% from a year earlier, according to the data.
