SoftBank sold SenseTime shares again, cut stake to 12.99% from 13.04%

SoftBank Group reduced its shareholding in Chinese AI software company SenseTime by 14.904 million shares in July 31, at an average price of HK$1.7919 per share, worth a total of about HK$26.7 million, according to a filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. 

After this reduction, SoftBank’s stake in SenseTime dropped from 13.04% to 12.99%, according to the filing.

Softbank participated five rounds of SenseTime’s fundraisings since 2018 and before the AI company’s IPO at the end of 2021, Softbank held a total of 4.73 billion shares with an average cost of about HK$2.37 per share.

After the lockup period ended, Softbank has reduced SenseTime stake several times, selling 12.95 million shares in December last year, 50 million shares in February, 200 million shares in two cuts in March and 50 million shares in April.

Notably, Alibaba unit Taobao Holding has sold all its class B shares in SenseTime, according to a filing in July.
