US electric vehicle maker Tesla is making preparations to introduce Full Self-Driving (FSD) Beta in China.
According to Chinese local media outlet 36kr, Tesla is now in the process of hiring a team of approximately 20 individuals to oversee the introduction of FSD Beta into the Chinese market.
In addition, the company is recruiting “hundreds” of data labelers to train neural nets on Chinese road conditions and infrastructure, the report said.
In North America, Tesla has launched some features under the FSD package, but it has seen fewer advancements in the regards in Europe and China. Alongside the technical challenges associated with the feature, regulatory approval is expected to be an uphill battle. An estimated timeframe for the launch suggests it may not occur until next year.
