World’s top silicon wafer maker Longi Green Energy’s H1 net profit surged over 41% on year

Longi Green Energy Technology, the largest wafer maker in the world, said its revenue reached 64.66 billion yuan in the first half of the year, rising by 28.26% from a year earlier.

Net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company reached 9.18 billion yuan, surging 41.6% from a year earlier. Net profit attributable after deducting non-recurring gains and losses reached 9 billion yuan, surging 41.46% from a year earlier.

The company attributed the higher profit to the significant higher shipments of silicon wafer and module, falling prices of upstream polysilicon materials which improved the gross profit margin for module products; and investment and exchange gains, it said.

Notably, Longi’s net profit for the first quarter reached 3.64 billion yuan, leaving its second-quarter net profit at 5.54 billion yuan, surging by more than 52% from the previous quarter.
