Chinese tech stock QuantumCTek surges 924% in debut, breaking first-day record

A Chinese information security firm soared 924 per cent in its trading debut in Shanghai on Thursday to achieve the largest first-day leap in the history of China's stock markets.

QuantumCTek Co., which develops information security products, surged 924 per cent from its 36.18 yuan issue price on China’s Star Market on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

The firm's debut broke a short-lived record set on Tuesday by Beijing-based Tinavi Medical Technologies, which gained 614 per cent from its issue price on its first day of trading.
