China's pork prices decline rapidly as the country's pig production recovers from an outbreak of the deadly African swine fever in 2018 and 2019. The falling prices brings many pig farmers close to their break-even point and prompt state planner to send signal to stabilise prices.
Average wholesale pork prices stood at 24.31 yuan per kg on June 8, slumping from 45.04 yuan per kg on February 8 this year, according to data from the Ministry of Agriculture . . .
